I should just rename this damn thing the soup blog. (Slog? Plog?)

Last night, corn chile turkey chowder. This was a total salvage operation, and yet still turned out quite good. How to make it:

Take 1 bag frozen corn that you've forgotten about for 2 years from the corner of your freezer.
Dump it into a pot with a little water and boil until its unfrozen.
Add some salt and pepper, and a little chopped green chile.
Put half of it in a blender with 1/4c heavy cream. Blend, and dump back into pot, adding water to thin.
Add 1 container frozen turkey meat from thanksgiving. Stir until it warmed through.

Eat immediately, or package up for work lunches.

The corn was awful looking when it went into the pot - shriveled and not smelling very good (but note, it did not REEK of freezer burn, just smelled a little off. Even I know *that* difference....). The turkey even looked a little dry and near the end of its freezer life. But add some top quality (Strauss family creamery) cream to the mix, don't over complicate the ingredients list, and things really come around.
