There is a time for everything....
...and today, for the first time in about 2 years, it was time for Subway.

A bready-meaty-salty craving led me to the Oven Roasted Chicken Breast sandwich, with all the right condiments: pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, peppers, olives, vinegar, and salt & pepper. The vinegar is key - it makes the chicken seem juicier and the flavors bright and fresh. Also, if you skip the horrible shredded iceberg lettuce it leaves a gaping void in the sandwich which seems to usually be filled with extra amounts of whatever other veggies you have specified. Also, the chicken is served warmed, so it melts the cheese just a little bit for some extra gooeyness.

Mmmm, protein...

Talk at me:
Two years... And this is from a girl who used to WORK there, eh? The fixings are usually pretty good albeit bland, but the bread always is the downer for me, just too dough-ey despite whatever flavors they happen to call it this year.

Perhaps fittingly to your comment, I did only eat about half of the overly smooshy bread - definitely the weak link in the sandwich.
