Backlash Bingeing?
A lovely little excerpt from an article in Observer Monthly about the oncoming 2006 deluge of "fuck this diet" books as a backlash against the "yay, I'm skinny!" trend of the last few years....
"The fact is that women love food, but then we go and spoil it all by hating it because we love it. It's bizarre. But I'm not convinced that reading about someone else's struggle with a chocolate éclair is altogether worthwhile."
Gotta love the British use of language, especially when further down in the quoted paragraph you get to see the word "tits-achingly" bandied about. Ha!
