December Delectables.....
Like holiday season 2004, this year I will again be making lots of foodstuffs to give out to friends and relatives as gifts.

Today I began in earnest with an initial batch of truffles. Details will be sparse and recipes will have to come later, as some of the gift recipients read this site.... so while I can confess that I am making truffles and cookies and things, the flavors, toppings, and varieties of those items will only be revealed in the end.

However, I am happy to announce that I "successfully" did my first experiment with coating truffles in a hard chocolate shell. Previous years I have only rolled the truffles in things like cocoa, nuts, etc. This year I will probably have both kinds, as the chocolate coating technique is a wee bit fussy. To be sure, it is not difficult, just different in how you have to stage things. Oh, and I have the cutest little foil squares to wrap all of my candies in - they are spiffy! Hehe.

Wish me luck as I continue to cull the lucky recipes.....

Talk at me:
I would like to know how your experiment went with the Larabar recipe. I have tried making it at home myself and it was too gooey and wouldn't stay together. If you can tell me how you did that would be great.

You can reach me through my website at www.SoCalTrainer.com. Thanks so much!
