Bitchin' about the Kitchen
As armchair cooking grows in popularity, REAL cooking seems to be on the decline. We worship celebrity chefs, both on TV and locally (In Albuquerque, even if you're not a foodie you probably know the name Sam Etheridge - why is that?), yet recipes have to be changed from "cream butter and sugar" to "with a mixer, blend together butter and sugar until light in color and creamy".

In this Washington Post article, it's the basic skills that are on the decline, and with them, a desire to cook. Hmmph.

Talk at me:
That's a great article. Even the instructions on foods are being 'dumbed down' like frozen pizzas have to say, "remove the plastic wrap before placing in the oven." I guess companies have gotten sued for less.

Here's an unrelated question: What camera do you use to take your pictures. They are really great - and I love the close up shots and the detail.

Thx.

Tanya,
Thank you! I use a Casio EX-Z750. I've had it for about a year and LOVE it! The price has even come down a bit so that you can get it at Costco for $350 or so....
