Didn't I just say this a few months ago?

Didn't I, when talking with several different friends on more than a few different occasions, suggest that the creation of the Egg McMuffin is one of the feats of culinary genius in the last generation?
Yes, yes, I did. And apparently my memo made its way to McDonalds headquarters, because they gave the inventor a lifetime achievement award. Go, Herb!
Back in 1971, Herb was lamenting the fact that most stores did not open until 11 a.m. and he, being a franchise owner, decided to do something about the lack of breakfast and his love of Eggs Benedict. Finally in 1975, it debuted nationally and has been beloved ever since, ultimately spawning a whole breakfast menu and hours to match in nearly every McDonalds franchise location.
