Handily Hanging Out...
I'm not posting nearly often enough because I am on my annual pilgrimmage/vacation/tour of the general San Juans and the specific area of Silverton.
Here's an example of the extremely low levels of snow up on the 14'ers here, on Handies Peak, which I was on just on Wednesday:

Despite being taken in 2003, that photo is about what things looked like even a few days ago, and that's before 3 more inches of rain fell to melt nearly all of the white stuff away....
Food news? Not really. There is a new restaurant in town in a historically doomed location that has decent breakfasts (smoked salmon omelets, monte cristos, etc.) and lunches. Other than that, the fare here is the usual touristy crap - about a dozen places that serve awful sandwiches, soups, and ice cream. There are a few decent steaks to be had and some good coffee, but some Thai food would be great right about now....
Hope everyone's summer is going well, so far.
