Various nigiri at Neko Sushi in Albuquerque's west side.
My first time visit, and they have only been open for a week. As with many sushi places, the mackerel is darn hard to appreciate. I suppose I've been spoiled with Sushi Hama's - it was the first place I had mackerel and theirs is fabulous. At least half of the time at other locations the mackerel is just OK, and Neko was no exception.
Note that they do not have any CAT sushi on the menu, but they do have an appetizer called "monkey balls", which to a chowhound like me is - sadly - not what it says.
Tonight was my first time eating at Neko Sushi and honestly I was less than impressed. It was the worst service I have ever in my entire life. I had to ask several times for napkins, straws, chopsticks, water refills, and soy sauce dishes. It took well over an hour to get our sushi (they only had one sushi chef working on a friday night). I don't believe that I have unrealistic expectations for a restaurant; expecially for one recently established. I will not be going there again.
