Buckets and Shovels
As New Mexico recovers from a hellacious storm that - for the first time I've ever heard - closed the BIG I, I am "safely" ensconced at relatives' in Illinois.

Where it is raining.

Non-stop.

Ugh. On the shortest day of the year, having all day gloom just makes for one heckuva bleary attitude.

On the other hand, I did make a stop at the coolest little store in all of Stark County - the Mexican grocery in a town of about 10,000 where you can get El Milagro tortillas and all manner of spicy condiments. It's a welcome relief in the land of hearty but rarely incendiary food.

Next, my path moves onward and northward to the other half of the relational holiday journey, where rain is still in the forecast but it should be clearing up soon. Thank. You. Jeebus.
